Every fingerprint is unique—an individual mark that belongs to no one else. This artwork draws a parallel between that fact and the painting strokes that create a painting, suggesting that every brushstroke carries its own identity. No two strokes are ever exactly alike; each bears subtle variations of pressure, movement, and intention. Presented almost as specimens or records, the brushstrokes are documented in the manner of fingerprints, turning the smallest gestures of painting into evidence of individuality.
